The Karroo Theatrical Hotel, is holding an electrifyingly surreal carnival costume party with the theme - “Queens of the Dessert”. You are cordially invited to visit our one night fantasy world where you choose to attend as either a King or a Queen. This is a pride costume party where everyone is equally proud to be gathered together, under the Karoo stars, as Kings and Queens representing their individual dynasties. The occasion begs for you to dress explicitly, according to your title, sparing no effort, no expense nor fantasy.
Concubines, eunuchs, servants and slaves are also most welcome. We expect them also to dress accordingly, remaining at all times subservient although their services are most valued and sometimes well rewarded by the monarchy. Attendees will automatically stand as candidates for election.
Monarchs may enter the King and Queen of the Night competition. One lucky individual will be elected as reigning “Sovereign of the Dessert” for a full one year term.
A separate competition will be held where we will be looking for the most subservient, grovelling, quivering candidate who will be publicly humiliated before receiving a coveted prize. It is essential that this candidate display either a tattoo or piercing or other form of bod. mod.
The big party begins at 8pm in the Queen of the Dessert Hall. Disco man Dan will rock you till you pop. He will take you on a dance trip through the decades, catering for every whim and fancy imaginable, maintaining a rush whilst you debate what’s lush. He has been keeping countless crowds ecstatic for decades and believe you me, he is so looking forward to this twisted royal bunch.
A meal voucher is included in the with the price of the admission voucher. There will be a choice of Chicken, Lamb or Veggie potjie. In addition to this, for those who get perpetual munchies late at night, there will a food court, with a variety of inexpensive international delicacies (fresh from the palace kitchen) to keep your taste buds watering.
The palace wells - our well stocked watering hole will ensure that you stay at all times, economically inexpensively hydrated.
Cruise our dams and explore hectares of bush, have a fag, consider a shag, stumble upon other adventurers in our one night fantasy realm. Look up to our open skies, contemplate the infinite galaxies of stars, feel your utter insignificance, and before you leave, contemplate doing something extraordinary for the good of mankind – like, bequeathing your organ for scientific experimentation.

The Accommodation Story.
TENTING - IT'S ONLY FOR A NIGHT.
This party is intended to be an all night party culminating with the waxing moon reaching it's full status at 6:10 on Sunday morning the 4th October. We do not plan to sleep. However for those of you who feel that you may need to lay your head down for awhile - why not bring a tent along and "camp out". We are providing excellent "camping facilities" with decent loo's and hot showers. A parking & camping voucher is included in the cost of your admission voucher. Caravans are also welcome.
The palace itself has already been completely booked out to foreign heads of state, dignitaries, celebrities and media.
Limited Backpackers accomodation is still available – details and price on application.
We urge attendees please to make use of our “camping facilities” which is included in the cost of the R100.00 entrance voucher. There is unlimited space. There are public ablutions, great showers with heaps of hot water & great pressure. Pitch a tent – it’s only for a night – bring a caravan.
Breakfast and coffee will be available from early Sunday morning at the food-court.
